The opportunity 

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Registered Nurse to join our friendly team in Ty Coch Nursing Home, Cardiff.  

Our purpose-built, modern home is situated in the Cardiff suburb of Llanishen. We provide the highest possible standards in: Dementia, Palliative, and general nursing care to over 50 residents. All in comfortable, En Suite bedrooms spread over our three communities. 

This role is 0 hours per week – excellent for anyone who wants extra hours around other commitments or needs flexibility in their working pattern. The role aims to cover holiday and sickness leave, as well as supporting the home at particularly busy times.   
 

The main duties of this role include: 

  • You will work alongside our highly trained staff team of Care Assistants, Senior Care Assistants and Nursing team to support approximately 15 residents each night within a specially assigned ‘community’. 
  • Focusing on our residents often complex needs will allow you to build on your experience of working in Nursing and EMI care. 
  • You will take responsibility as a ‘named nurse’, giving you the opportunity not only to build excellent professional relationships, but also to ensure the care you give always respects the personal wishes and circumstances of each individual. 

 

What we need from you: 

  • Experience in working with residents – this role is based within a nursing home setting so experience of working with the residents is essential 
  • Ability to show empathy, understanding and experience in a care setting. You will be expected to work closely with our residents and be able to identify their specific needs.  
  • Well-developed time management skills with the ability to work under pressure – to ensure the smooth running of the home’s routine. 
  • Ability to make balanced, clear, and timely decisions to ensure the best decisions and outcomes are met for our residents, by taking a pro-active approach in consulting and involving others in decision making. 
  • Takes a pro-active approach to consulting and involving others in decision making process as appropriate. 
  • Registered Nurse and relevant qualifications. 
  • IT skills - Microsoft Office.
